Dear Friend of Reader To Reader,

I hope you enjoy this newsletter about the Reader To Reader Book Project. Our success is very much due to your donations of books, postage money, and most of all your generous spirit. Please forward this newsletter and help us spread the word.

Just because it is summer doesn’t mean we slow down. Many of our schools receive summer book shipments, building their resources all year long. Here are some quick notes from some of these schools.

Dear Reader To Reader:

We love to receive all the summer shipments from Reader To Reader. It is always exciting to open the boxes you send. Our library is trying to grow into an up-to-date, resourceful library and with your donations we are reaching our goal.

Thanks again for giving us a wonderful summer!

Sincerely,

Amanda Adams

Dear Mr. Mazor,

Thank you for the great book shipments we received this school year. They were instrumental in getting books into the hands of our students who wouldn't otherwise have them. All the types of books you send are appreciated, especially beginning and mid-level chapter books. These are highly prized for our beginning and older struggling readers.

Thank you again,

Nancy Ford
Joyce Elementary School
Detroit, MI

Dear David,

YES, we would love books for the summer. The kids LOVED the all the books that we received. Thank you, David, for all the fine books you have sent to us. We certainly appreciate your interest in our students and our school. Thanks to you, I have three copies of "Raven's Gate" and have not been able to keep it on the shelf. As soon as one student checks it in, another checks it out. In fact, it trades hands before reaching me. For our students, this is remarkable. Also, a non-reader read "Raven's Gate" and asked for more books by the same author. I gave him a copy of "Ark Angel" by Horowitz; and he READ it!!! Every page!!!! I'm excited. Can you tell? Enough of my ranting. Again, thank you for your interest, for the books, and for just being a friend to our students. I certainly hope you have a GREAT day.

Sincerely,

Judy Manning, Principal
Hughes High School
Hughes, AR

Dear Mr. Mazor,

The kids love all the David Pelzer books, Chicken Soup for the Soul series, and ones about tough situations like teens who are pregnant or have been on the streets and write autobiographies. Your books are making such a big difference.

THANKS!!

Mr. Mazor,

Reader To Reader has been a true blessing to the boys and girls at our school and we can never thank you enough for being so generous. The students love fiction and biographies on blacks and sports figures. They can never get enough of good classic literature like fairy tales and nursery rhymes. Believe me when I say that we will appreciate whatever you send. You have made such a difference in the lives of our students.
