David Mazor
Founding Executive Director
Reader to Reader’s founder, David Mazor, has been widely recognized for his devotion to literacy. The honors he has received include: the Library of Congress State Literacy Award, Celebrate Literacy Award from the International Reading Association, Janet Dakin Award for Human Services, Special Citations from both the Massachusetts State House and State Senate, and the Massachusetts Literacy Champion Award. Mazor was one of four people nationwide to be profiled in the 2006 edition of The Read-Aloud Handbook by Jim Trelease.
Jinaabah Showa
Navajo Nation Outreach Coordinator
Jinaabah Showa is a Navajo Nation Outreach Coordinator in New Mexico, teaching college readiness classes to high school students. Originally from Window Rock, Arizona, the capital of the Navajo Nation, her clans are Taabaha and Biligaana. She attended Brown University for both her bachelor and masters degrees. Starting her teaching career in Korea, she eventually moved closer to the Navajo Reservation and had been teaching in Albuquerque for the past four years. Jinaabah loves traveling, writing, and experimenting with origami.
